Such a busy weekend!

Wow, I can't believe all that we ending up doing this past weekend! No wonder I didn't get anything accomplished in the house. Friday night we headed into Chambersburg for Taste of the Arts Downtown. It was almost like when I was kid, walking down Main Street with all the people there. The Chamber of Commerce is trying to get more business downtown so the first Friday of every month they'll be holding "Taste of the Arts". At Kerrstown Square is where all the kids activities were (chalk drawing, making kites, blowing bubble, face painting, and a magician). After we stopped in a few stores and tried some different foods, we went to Ice Cream Station across from Texas Lunch for ice cream. Afterwards, I found out that we just missed my parents and one of the families from Mom's Club by minutes.

Katelyn got a yellow star on her face.

In celebration of 225 years of Franklin County being around, "Ben Franklin" made an appearance.

Saturday morning, Katelyn and I got up bright and early to do some yard saling and then check out the Shalom Christian Academy's Dutch Fest. Geesh, let me tell you, I had no idea it was going to be such a big event, the Fest, that is. Hundreds of people came and almost everyone had kids with them. Nutso! There was tons of food and pies, kids activites (again face painting, pony rides, bounce castle, barrel train ride, a playground, a quilt auction, crafts, etc, etc.) Katelyn loved the pony and barrel rides so much that I let her get on twice. When we got home later that afternoon, Katelyn was so pooped that she fell asleep on my lap while Bob pressure washed the picnic table!

And I can't forget about Sunday! That morning we again got up bright and early to go to Sunday School at the St. Thomas Assembly of God Church. I went with Danielle last Sunday for the service and enjoyed it so much, I've decided to start taking Katelyn also. Unfortunately the 3 year old class only has one kid in it and she didn't come this week for Sunday School so the teacher just had Katelyn. I stayed too, but tried to keep my mouth shut as much as possible (more on that subject at a later time!). Katelyn was very quiet in the beginning, but started to warm up to Mariam by the end. After Sunday School, we went to the service just for the singing part before heading downstairs for Kids Thang where Katelyn made a notebook for my mom for Mother's Day next weekend. Turns out I know one of the ladies in charge so it won't be so hard dropping Katelyn off with her. Plus one of my Kindergarten students is in that class too and I just adore her!
After church, I dropped Katelyn off at home and spent the next 3 hours with some of the funniest, caring, wonderful ladies I've ever met. We had our MOM's Club annual banquet at Emily's Restaraunt. The Club has been around for 10 years in Chambersburg so the theme was remembering the good times. One of the ladies did photo collages of events from the past year. There was also a raffle for some really cool stuff which I ended up winning twice!!! Yay for me! I never win anything so winning twice was so awesome. Plus I won a door prize! Yay me! We also shared our best, funniest, and most embarassing moments while being in MOM's club. And we played 2 truths and one lie in which we had to guess who the people were and figure out the lie. Oh, and I can't forget about the food! It was delicious!!!! I totally stuffed myself and ate all 4 of the desserts!
When the banquet was over, I went home to find a sleeping Katelyn...again. She fell asleep watching Blues Clues so that told me she wasn't feeling well. We took her to PaPa's house anyway and after taking some medicine, she was back to her perky self. We had dinner and watched a movie "Yes Man" which was really funny. Finally got home close to 10pm. Like I said, WHAT A WEEKEND!
