Oh, I feel so guilty right now! Poor little Katelyn had been suffering from what I thought were allergies all week, but then last night started running a fever. She also slept off and on all day yesterday, even fell asleep while at Kelly's house! I knew something wasn't right when I realized she hadn't said more than a few words all day and then in the bath tub, her eyes glazed over and she fell over (luckily, I had a hand ready to catch her). So this morning I took her to see Phil Meyers, the physician's assistant. I was shocked when he came back saying she has strep throat! Now she's on Amoxicillan for 10 days. I loved the taste of that stuff when I was a kid, but Katelyn seems to think it tastes "yucky". It's been a bit of a battle getting her to take it. The doctor told me that she's still contagious for 24 hours after taking the meds so since we were supposed to have 8 kids at the party plus 40+ adults, we've rescheduled it for May 30th. Poo! But it is Katelyn's party and we want her to enjoy it! Plus I'd rather not be the reason that someone gets strep b/c it is NOT fun!
