While the boys were in Ocean City, Kelly and I decided to take Katelyn and Kadee to the National Zoo in DC last Saturday. We left around 9:30, got to the Metro around 11:00 only to find over a hundred people buying tickets to go to the Chili Cookoff. Usually Bob and I can walk in and have our tickets in less than 3 minutes. This time, 20 minutes!! Once we got on the Metro, it was smooth sailing from there. We got to the zoo around noon and didn't leave until around 6:00. There was so much to see!
Looking out the window of the 'choochoo' train
This alligator actually jumped up the window and tried to bite a child's hand. Thank goodness for thick glass!!!
This thing was scary! It's called an alligator turtle and it hides in the mud with its mouth open, just waiting for something to step into its mouth! Ahhh!!
The Slowsky's from Geico:)
Katelyn said, "Those turtles are in timeout because the Mommy said so"
Shocked at how well my camera takes pictures from so far away!
Kadee was having a good time splashing in the puddle
Katelyn kept teasing Kadee by touching her arm. Kadee would yell "NO" and turn away!
Her mommy bought her a ladybug so that made her happy!
Someday we'll get both girls to look at the same time!
On the way home we stopped at Golden Corral for dinner. Kadee's favorite part was the chocolate chip cookies:)
