Before dinner tonight, Katelyn wanted to have a yogurt drink. She started to peel back the foil and then decided she wanted to know what the words on the bottle said which were 'Grab! Shake! Drink!' I told her and then went to the pantry to put away some groceries. She comes into the pantry a minute later, saying nervously, "Mommy, I forgot it was open and I shook it and some went on the floor!" I wasn't looking at her when she said this so when I looked up (Oh, I wish I'd had a camera at this moment!), she had yogurt all over her hair, her face, in her eyes, her shirt, hands, EVERYWHERE! I bust out laughing because she seemed so calm about it and I totally wasn't expecting it on her, but that wasn't the right thing to do. Poor girl screamed and cried hysterically:( I cleaned her up, apologized, and then cleaned up the other half of the drink that was on the kitchen floor.
Then after I put her to bed, Katelyn came out to the living room to tell me her batteries in her big Leapster weren't working.
I told her, 'yes they are, go back to bed before you get in trouble.'
She said, "Mommy, if you keep yelling at me, I'm going to go outside and run away".
I said, "Okay, will you write letters to me?"
She said, "yeah, I'm going to get in my Jeep and run far away".
I said, "okay" (such a nice Mommy I am)
She replied, "Well, I think I might take you with me."
I love that girl!
You are a better mom (but a worse blogger) than I am.
ReplyDeleteI would have laughed, photographed, and THEN apologized and cleaned it up.
