I am sooooo done!
14 Months old....Do I need to say more?
- Wow, where do I even start? Chloe turned into a little person, I swear, overnight. One days she's my sweet little baby and the next, she's Godzilla child! Now that she's walking and running, she does not stop. Ever. She's like the Energizer Bunny...she keeps going...and going...and going...Anything that is in her way, is fair game for picking up and throwing. I have almost totally UNdecorated the whole house. Well, from her point of view and reach. Her climbing skills are fantastic! She tries to get on top of everything, including but not limited to...couches, chairs, tables, boxes, baskets, people...
- Her language skills are so fun! She tries to imitate every sound we make. Just from the top of my head, these are the sounds she repeats...honk...whoo...woof...tick...buzz...moo...meow...mmmm (yummy)...hop...roar...She also repeats real words. Only Bob, my mom, and I know what she's saying right now. The newest words to add to her list are ball, ice cream, cookie, out, more, sit, help, no, binky, blankie, hi, cake
- Chloe is just beginning to show some signs of pickiness for foods. She LOVES vegetable, especially corn, peas, green beans, and carrots. Not a fan of potatoes. Sorry, Bob:( She can devour 3 pancakes in the same amount of time it takes Katelyn to eat one. Her favorite foods are sweets. Guessing maybe I ate a few too many cookies when I was pregnant with her! She also loves her fruits. So far there isn't any that she does NOT like.
- We are getting close to the end of breastfeeding. Chloe only nurses about every 12 hours. Every day the time between feeding is a little longer. I'm excited and sad at the same time. Those few minutes of nursing a day are the only times that Chloe lets me hold her. I'm trying to cherish these last couple weeks of our one on one bonding time.
- Sleep is another issue. Some nights Chloe only wakes up once, other nights she's up every hour and ends up sleeping with us for a couple of hours. Bringing her to bed is the only way to calm her since I'm not nursing her back to sleep anymore. And naps are so sporadic. Sometimes she'll take 2 naps a day, sometimes only one. I never know if a nap is going to last an hour or 3 hours. I suppose not having a set routine everyday and going to morning activities 3 out of 7 days doesn't help. But I can't live like a hermit so I guess it's just something I need to not worry about.
- You know the best part of Chloe being able to run around and talk? Watching Katelyn and her play together. They have so much fun, running around and laughing. It melts my heart every time I hear their giggles. Katelyn was asked today if Chloe is her best friend. She told the person 'no'. Then later at home when they were playing, I asked Katelyn again if Chloe is her best friend. As they both ran off giggling, she yelled 'yes':)
- Chloe is at that stage where she wants to do everything her self. She doesn't want anyone to carry her. She doesn't want to be fed. She doesn't want her hands held when she's walking. She doesn't want to wait for me to cut or break up food. Love it and hate it...
- One of her favorite activities (besides just running from one end of the house to the other) is putting things in containers/baskets/boxes/etc. and then taking the stuff out. That is the only time she will sit. Give her something like balls and a box and she's content for about 15 minutes.
- All of her clothes are 18 months. Diapers are still size 3. Her shoe size is about a 4/5.
- Bath time is another favorite time of the day. She would stay in the bathtub for hours if I'd let her. I'm trying to teach her that drinking bath water is yucky, but so far, she just thinks it's funny.
- All of her one year molars are in. She was fussy when they first broke through, but it's all good now. She can eat steak like the rest of us now.
