At the beginning of the summer, I created a jar of activities to do throughout the summer (all ideas came from the Happy Home Fairy). One of the ideas was to bake some yummy treats and give to someone in the community. Our original idea was to bake cookies for the St. Thomas Volunteer Firefighters, but when we got to the fire house, no one was there. So we decided to give them to our favorite librarians instead. They were very appreciative. I doubt they get many thank you's.
I love giving people little surprises. It makes me feel so good to make others happy. If I teach anything to my girls, I hope they learn that giving is way better than receiving.
