Playing picture catch up

I am not doing very well with posting everyday! You would think it would easy to just jump on for a few minutes, post a couple of pictures, and be done with it. No, not me...I have to keep putting it off until I have a ton to post. Done venting!

On Tuesday, we went to Red Bridge Skating Rink in Chambersburg. It's the same place I learned how to skate 16+ years ago. Still looks the same too. The owner has a preschool skate on Tuesday mornings so we don't have to worry about anyone running us over plus he tightens the skates so the kids don't keep flopping down on their butts. Katelyn only fell a couple of times, but it was on purpose. She thought it was funny when the other kids fell. Only a Hess would think falling and getting hurt is fun and entertaining!

The last half hour the kids get to run around and ride different riding toys. Bob should be proud...the first toy she picked was a motorcycle!
On Wednesday, we went to Hershey Giant Center with Mom to see Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic. We hit some really crazy bad traffic on the way there in Chambersburg. Long story short, it took us 2 hours to get out of town so we only had time to stop at Wendy's for dinner in Shippensburg. Katelyn didn't mind a bit though:)
It was mine and Katelyn's first ice skating show and we loved every second of it! The colorful costumes, the awesome skating, familar Disney songs that we could sing to...totally worth the trip! Mom got Katelyn a CD of Disney songs as a souvenir.

At the end, all of the characters came out to skate.

The characters then skated around the rink and the kids were able to shake hands with them. Here is Woody from Toy Story shaking Katelyn's hand.

Thursdays this month, the St. Thomas Library has been having a Care and Share time for toddlers and their parents. Only 2 other moms and their little girls plus Katelyn and me have been going, but it's still fun. Their favorite part is the musical instruments, especially the bells and the cymbals.

At the end, we sing songs together that Katelyn and the other 2 year old pick. Katelyn is helping sing 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.

The last song we always do is Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear. Katelyn is the only kid who does it! Sometimes I wonder if the other adults feel as silly as I do.

Katelyn's waving goodbye to everyone, until next week!
Katelyn has really been into playing dressup lately. She has on her Tinkerbell costume and was "flying" around the kitchen just before I took this picture.
