I started this blog, mainly to record my memories of Katelyn, but there's other things I want to remember, too. Such as the home addition project Bob and I are taking on hopefully very soon. Tonight we saw the plans that Dad drew and it finally seems real. By the end of the summer, we'll have turned the existing garage into a game room and added 1500 sq. feet of garage. Super exciting! I'll be posting pictures as the changes are made.

Now on to the subject of Jekyll and Hyde, aka Katelyn. I just don't understand how she can be the sweetest little girl one second and the next, a screaming, kicking neanderthal. Yes, neanderthal. It's the only term that truly explains what she's like sometimes. For example, tonight, after we got home, I told her the clock says it's time for pj's and she takes off running and screaming through the house, like she's never heard of going to bed before. So we fight every step of the way until she's brushed her teeth and put on her pj's and then I ask her if she wants some water. She runs to the kitchen just yelling and screaming, not because she's mad, but because she's so hyper at this point. I give her the water, she sits at her little table and explains to Bob about how her cup has a straw built into it. She gives him a kiss, but says, "no hugs" because her shirt says "kisses" on it. This whole time she's as sweet and calm as can be. I'm definitely not complaining about the sweetness. The neanderthal-like behavior can go though!
