Yesterday Katelyn and I went to her preschool (Growing Tree) for a mini session.
She played at her assigned seat with gears, beside her buddy, Carson.
Mrs. Knight told the kids a story about a Mommy who loves her child all of the time, whether they're together or not.
Katelyn will be 'writing' stories in her story journal. Here she is drawing a picture on the front cover of baby apples and a Mommy apple. The Mommy apple has 2 worms in it:)
Free play time; Katelyn chose a puzzle to play with and then played with Carson again.
Mrs. Knight explained the Super Behavior jar. Every time a child is caught being good or display good manners, a super bouncy ball is added to the jar. When it's full, every child gets a Hershey Kiss. What a great idea! I think I might have to use that idea here at home.
Most of the kids in Katelyn's class were with her last year in Mrs. Berkey's class so it wasn't too nerve wracking for her. She had been saying all summer that she didn't want to go to Mrs. Knight's class, but after yesterday she decided that Mrs. Knight is nice and she'll go back:)
