Not a good day

Today could've been a really great day for Katelyn and I, but for some reason, she was all attitude and not listening to ANYTHING I said. Her response to everything was screaming or "NO". Some days she's sweet as pie and days like today, I just want to lock myself in a room.
But I am trying to see the positive in life and enjoy my final days of being a mom of one so I took Katelyn out for some fun events.
Our first fun activity was making a making a tissue paper flower which turned out really well. I'm going to cut it out and hang it on her wall b/c the colors match her room and like I said, she did a beautiful job.
Later in the day, we went to the mall where the state was holding a free H1N1 vaccine clinic. I got my vaccine a few months ago, but I've been concerned about Katelyn catching the flu and finally there's enough vaccines for everyone who wants one. I was ecstatic to learn that they didn't have to give her a shot, she was able to use the nasal mist. Katelyn was a little unsure at first, but the lady administering it was really nice. Katelyn sniffed it up like a pro:)
Because she was such a good girl about the vaccine, we each got an Auntie Anne's pretzel and sat on a bench 'people watching' as we ate. I also let her play on the mechanical cars for a bit before leaving.
Our next stop was the model train show put on by the Cumberland Valley Train Club. Katelyn and I both loved watching the trains and looking at all the detail the people had put into them. She wants Bob to take her back next weekend so she can show him all the trains.
Our last stop was Wolf's Furniture to find a night stand for Chloe's room. I couldn't decide so Mom is going to come back with us tomorrow.
I guess overall the day was not horrible. She just pokes around and does what she want to do and my tolerance level is not very good. Bedtime was the worst (as it always is). She wouldn't brush her teeth so I told her no stories. I normally end up giving in to reading stories anyway, but I was at the end of my rope and stuck to my guns. She cried, and screamed, and stomped around, and jumped up and down. I finally had to leave the room and pretend like the door was locked. After a few minutes, I went back in and told her I'd still tell her a story, just not read a story. And you know what, that's all she needed to hear. I guess in her mind, she thought no stories meant no books or no made up story by Mommy. She laid down and was my sweet little angel again.
Now that I'm looking back, today was not the worst day ever. Hopefully tomorrow will just be a little better!
