Daisy's

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned that Katelyn is in Girl Scouts this year as a Daisy.  I signed her up at the Back to School Open House in August.  Turns out that her troop leader is the same lady that was my Girl Scout leader back in the day. How cool is that?
For the most part, Katelyn has really enjoyed going to the meetings, making some new friends, making crafts.  Once I saw what was involved in the meetings, my wheels started turning.  Since I was a Girl Scout and loved it, and I love working with kids, and I sometimes miss teaching, I thought, 'well, here's my opportunity to give back to the community and put my teaching skills to use'.  So I told the scout leader that I was interested in being troop leader next year and tonight I went to my first meeting for leaders, just to see what it's all about. One things for sure, I will be BUSY next year!  I'm excited though.  Katelyn is over the moon ecstatic about having me as her troop leader so that keeps me motivated, too.  I just have to remember what one of the other moms told me tonight....don't do much too fast!  She said I will burn out quick.  And I know that about myself now.  When I take something on, I usually put 100% of my energy into it.  So whoever is reading this, remind me in 5 months....SLOW DOWN!
