So what is Chloe bear up to now that she is 11 months old?
- I took her to the doctor on the day she turned 11 months b/c I thought she had an ear infection. Nope, just a nasty head cold. We did find out that she is 18 pounds, 15 ounces. It's time to change car seats, as much as I don't want to. She's extremely heavy in the carrier, but sometimes it is so much easier to just carry her that way into a store.
- I love to watch her crawl! She crawls with one leg down, and one leg up, like she's trying to stand. We call it the Chloe Crab Crawl:)
- She is a fast little bugger, too! Sometimes Chloe and Katelyn race and it's very close. She easily crawls up the step from the living room. She also has learned how to climb using her new chair she got at Christmas to climb on the couch.
- She wears size 18 month pj's and 12 month outfits. Still size 3 diapers.
- Man, does this girl know how to eat! She loves chunks of food now....bread, cheese, bananas, Cheerios, puffs, peaches, turkey, chicken, taco meat, peas, pretty much anything you put on her tray, she stuffs it in her mouth as fast as she can. I'm still giving her baby food, only b/c it's 100% natural and easy for me to feed her.
- We're still nursing:) If you would've asked me 6 months ago if we would last this long, I'd have been very doubtful, but there haven't been any clogs lately (knock on wood) or anything to keep us from it. She nurses about every 4 hours, sometimes 5 or 6 hours if we're busy. I usually nurse her 3 times a night. Normally, when she's ready to nurse, she rubs her hand over my chest. So sweet:)
- Temper tantrums have started:( She gets really mad if you take something away from her (like leaves, paper, small toys, etc) and throws her head back and CRIES! Wow, she's got a good set of lungs, let me tell you. I can only imagine what it'll be like when she's 2. When Katelyn tried to hug her or even just touch her, she gets really mad. Sibling rivalry has started already. I never realized how much a baby and 4 year old can fight. Drives me nuts most of the time!
- Chloe has figured out how to put her binky in her mouth. Most of the time she puts it in upside down and seems to like it that way. She does not know how to find it at night, though, so Bob or I usually have to get it for her at least twice a night.
- Stranger anxiety is still in full effect. If she doesn't know someone in a familiar setting (like our house or my parents' house), she cries. She wants her mama and then she's okay.
- She says 'oh no, dada, mama' consistently. She's really trying to imitate a lot of other words, like 'zip, doggy, KK, down'. She also claps hands when we say 'yay!'.
- The funniest/cutest thing she's doing this month is pointing. Out of nowhere and super fast, she points at people using her pointer finger. She also points at the things that she wants. Like tonight she pointed at the fiber optic tree I have in her room b/c she wanted me to move closer so that she could touch it.
- She loves to put things into containers and take them out. It's totally true about getting babies boxes for Christmas b/c she was way more interested in the cardboard box that Santa had put her ball in, then the ball itself.
- She can go from a sitting position to standing all by herself without holding onto anything or anyone. It's really amazing. I can't believe her leg muscles are so strong. She usually stands for about 10 seconds before sitting back down. She has tried to take a step, but just doesn't have the balance yet. So no, she did start walking by Christmas. Maybe before her first birthday?
- Music is one of her newest loves. When a fast song comes on the radio, she wiggles her little tush and bounces on her legs. Sometimes she gets her head be-bopping too. Must video tape that!
- Legs still kick like crazy when she's lifted up in the air. Just needed to mention that b/c it's so darn cute and funny!
