A snippet a day

Just out of curiosity tonight, I looked back to the first blog entry I made on here.  In it I wrote that Katelyn is growing up so fast and I want to make sure to remember all the funny things she says and does because one day I will forget the little things.  I'm glad I reread it.  I had started thinking of this blog as a chore recently.  Writing something  witty or take a good picture was what I had been trying to do, but that's not my primary reason for this blog.  It's for the memories.  So in my attempt to simplify my life by doing the things that I WANT to do rather HAVE to do, I'm going back to the core of this blog or memory keeper.  Little snippets of my time with the girls throughout the day.

Things I want to remember about today:
  • Katelyn still insists that she can't fall asleep without me rubbing her back.  Right now she is 'trying' to fall asleep on her own.  I'll check on her soon and most likely she will be asleep.  If I lay down with her, 9 times out of 10, Bob will find me sleeping when he gets home at 11:30.
  • Chloe also insists on having me rock her in the glider for about a minute or two while snuggling up to me.  Her favorite position is laying her head on my chest, knees drawn up, legs around my belly...it's my favorite, too:)  Then she tells me 'night, night' and points to her crib.  I lay her down on her back, cover her with her blankie, make sure she has a stuffed animal or princess beside, rub her soft little cheek, and tell her 'Night, night baby'.
  • Either Bob or I asked Chloe at lunchtime who she loves and she looked at Bob and said "I love Daddy":)  And then she said, "I love Chloe" and "I love Mommy".
  • Katelyn, Chloe, and I played out scenes from The Wizard of Oz tonight.  I was the scarecrow, Katelyn was Dorothy/Wizard/Tinman/Doorman, and Chloe was the Lion.  It was really a lot of fun and made me realize how much I love to just play with the girls.  I spend so much of my day cleaning, hanging out on the computer, doing laundry, fixing meals, etc. that I usually don't make time for 'fun'.  Gotta put that on my to-do list.
  • Katelyn told me something that happened at school today and jokingly said that her teacher doesn't know everything.  I said that I was going to tell her teacher she said that.  Katelyn said, "No, don't do that.  I'll have to pull a card and that means I'll have a timeout at recess!"
