Independent playing

One of the gifts that Katelyn wanted/had to have for Christmas was Moon Dough, but I can count on one hand the number of times she's actually played with stuff. Tonight after dinner, I was trying to think of something different to do rather than the whole scream/run through the house/terrorize Chloe scenario that we usually do. So I suggested to Katelyn that she play with Moon Dough, only expecting it to last a few minutes. Well, this picture was taken 30 minutes after she got it out and then played another 15 minutes. Yay! FINALLY Katelyn's attention span is increasing!

And while Katelyn played with Moon Dough, Chloe played with the Valentine's Day Busy Box (an array of pink/red/hearty 'stuff' that I found laying around the house and threw in a container). She spent about 10 minutes putting teddy bears, apples, tomatoes, and strawberries in one bowl, transferring everything to another bowl, dumping, and then doing the whole process again. Her attention span is lengthening also which is great! I'm actually able to get a few minutes of breath-time throughout the day:)
