Oh, where, Oh where has little lizard gone?

Just when I think Katelyn is definitely old enough to know better, that's when the crisis happens. At least I think it's a crisis, maybe minor, but still a crisis b/c she almost gave me a heart attack. Tonight while I was getting dinner ready and she was playing in the living room, I hear her cough/gag and then start crying hysterically. I run/waddle as fast as I can to find out what happened. I thought she had choked on the balloon string that I had just told her to keep out of her mouth. No, instead it was her little rubber lizard that she befriended a few months ago and loves dearly. And she didn't choke, she swallowed the little guy!
So Katelyn's hysterical b/c she just ate her little friend, I'm hysterical b/c I have no idea how he's going to come out. Luckily Bob was home to help keep us calm. I called Poison Control and found out rubber is not toxic. Then called Dr. Klink's office and they thought I should take her to the ER. Katelyn is still hysterical b/c her lizard is gone. I really hate the thought of them doing anything to my baby at the hospital so I got a second and third opinion from Tracy (who is a RN) and Kelly (who works in a dr's office). They both thought that we should give it a couple of days to pass through the other end.
Seriously, why would my too smart for her own good Katelyn chew on her little lizard??! I don't get it. I'm just glad that she's okay. Not looking forward to examining her poop over the next few days. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's out soon though. Poor little girl!
Oh, and it took over 30 minutes to calm Katelyn down. She kept crying "I want my little lizard." So tomorrow, I'm going on a hunt for a lizard, but this time it will be big enough that she cannot eat or stick up her nose or put in her nose.
